My Weeknotes from… err, last week. Here’s how it rolled:
Hibernating. It felt like I stayed in a lot. Likely driven by the arrival of an electric throw in response to the rising cost of living and a packed weekend.
Too many meetings Tuesday. Where I’m working we have something called Workflow Wednesday, which I really value as it’s the only real focus time I get. The trade-off is that it does often make for a manic Tuesday.
Naming projects and workshopping. I find naming projects really hard. I’ve been looking out for formulas, exercises and/or games to help. One of the challenges is that a lot of the tools out there are for brand names, and I’m working on feature names for software.
I also named a dog at the incredible Hope for Podencos, where my little shadow Mez came from. They do such hard, invaluable work – without which, many Podencos would not survive. Donate to HFP or buy a Podenco necklace as a way of showing your support. And say “Hello” to Bessa, the pup I suggested a name for. Bea and Vanessa, two locals, found Bessa near Hope for Podencos in Spain. It felt right to combine Bea and Vanessa’s names into Bessa as a big thank you.
Planning Paros. Have you seen how beautiful this Greek island is? Look up #paros to see just a smidge of what I hope my eyeballs will enjoy.
Trying to do less. Judging from the list above is not going swimmingly. Maybe it’ll happen in Paros, but I’d like to attempt to take on less. It’s a tricky thing to do when you’ve spent decades as a Copywriter in industries where your deadline is always yesterday. This will take time, and practice, for me.
