Blimey, Fridays come round quick. A colleague said on Wednesday that their week was dragging. The weeks always go so fast for me, and this one’s been bussssssssssy. I’m pretty exhausted. Here’s just some of what’s happened…
Showcasing a ‘single source of truth’ (SSOT) for copy. I took the copy team through the SSOT I’ve been building in Ditto Words. I’ve been figuring out how Ditto works and how it can best bring our copy-slash-content team value.
I like Ditto and want it to work. I am, though, struggling a bit to see how it adds value working with other disciplines (I could be using it wrong!).
Right now, it feels the clear value of Ditto is using it for systemising and organising copy in content team – it takes organisation and change logging to the next level. However, we (‘we’ as in our wider Design team) use Figma as our design source of truth so things can get messy. With components and variables in Figma, I wonder if I can simply use Figma. The exploration continues.
In-person meetings. I was back in the London office yesterday after a really long time. Despite Southern Fail messing up trains as usual and making my arrival a slightly stressed and sweaty one, I had a great day. It’s SO good to see colleagues, share lunch, and work next to one another again.
Have a good weekend. I’m off for a well-earned lie down.
