Hello, Friday.

Pensive is the word I’d use to summarise the last 5 days. My thinking cap is looking somewhat threadbare. Here’s why:

Scratching heads together on IA. We’re refreshing our mobile app at work. We have started exploring our current information architecture versus what it might look like. We’ve mapped the existing IA and thought about what’s on the roadmap for delivery. The following steps are grey and fuzzy, but we’ll get there.

Musing over writing a book. I’ve been pondering what I’d write about. I have the beginnings of a book from when I was working in the fashion industry. When I had the sense to get out of Devil-Wears-Prada Land, the need to write for catharsis left too.

Now, I’d like to write something that might help others in the content field. The thing is, there are already so many books out there. And so many great ones. So, I’ve been thinking about what my unique point of view is. And what’s my why? Why do I want to write a book? It’s important to me that it should give others value.

So it’s back to head-scratching. The projects I’m working on haven’t felt straightforward – and that’s okay. I know progress can feel this way so I’m embracing it.
