This week has been all about the ups and downs of business – good news, bad news and a whole heap of resilience.
I resonated with what a colleague said this week. That, “Resilience improves with professional experience”. For sure, I’m experiencing that, but I still have a way to go. Knowing there’s room for improvement is humbling. It’s humanising. Reassuring. No one is perfect and that’s 1000% OK.
Ramble over, this week has looked something like this…
Open and honest conversations. In retros, about ways of working, and feedback. I’m grateful for getting feedback. While it’s not always easy to hear, I do see it as a positive and an opportunity to learn and improve. We are all learning. We are all growing. Tripping up (and stepping up) is part of the process.
Creating a prompt library. I’ve spent quite a bit of time prompt engineering. This is intending to help others, giving them templates they can modify. It also is in an effort not to have to start prompts from scratch every time I need one. Still loitering in my head: what if writing prompts takes longer than writing copy myself? I don’t have a good answer for this yet. Other than I’m sure these templates will help.
Running pilot projects for copy and terminology testing. And also for some software I may introduce to help manage copy.
Plotting out priorities. The majority of our business has been knee-deep in roadmap planning. It’s been so useful and we’re in a much better place than ever before. Now, I’m planning content initiatives for 2024. There are many! I’m looking forward to rolling my sleeves up and getting into juicy projects I’ve not yet been able to tackle.
Next week, I’m going to need a lot of focus time so for now. For now, I’m going to enjoy the blue skies (finally, a break in the rain!) and go hiking with the pooch. Have a great weekend.
