A colleague shared this post about Weeknotes. One thing that’s really stuck with me from it is taking no more than 30 mins to write a Weeknote. I managed this last week and I’m hoping I can manage to do it again today.
Learning even more about accountants and bookkeepers. The software I work on is for this group of users. I attended some training yesterday, which took a deep dive into the tasks these folks do. Plus, key times of their year (err, all year) and some of the ways they set up their firms and operate.
It was so insightful. We had 2 former accountants in the room. One of which was a tax specialist, which was handy as we had tons of questions and expertise on hand. I know a whole heap more about what accountants and bookkeepers need and how tax works.
Fleshing out a new project to drive feature adoption. A couple of us are working on how to get a specific user group of ours to use more of our product’s features. We’ve identified short, mid, and long-term wins and meaningful ways we can angle our comms. Next week we’ll start fleshing this out.
Implementing quick wins from a support survey. I set up a survey to gauge UX writing skill gaps. That and how our team might enjoy learning about the discipline. I also asked about what kind of format works for folks. For example; 1:1 sessions, workshops, quizzes.
Some of the responses included wanting to know more about our voice and tone. I’m revamping our content design wiki right now so a quick win was to re-share a one-pager with this guidance. Once the wiki is ready I’ll run training in the formats that people have let me know they want. I’m really looking forward to that. I’m particularly looking forward to hearing the post training feedback. Then, I can optimise training sessions even further.
