Weeknotes 24 May, 2024

The hard thing about writing Weeknotes can be trying to remember what happened on Monday. I usually write short notes as I go to combat this – but not this week.

Fixing the finer details in a quality marathon. I dedicated 2 days this week to this. Unlike a hackathon, we logged and refined all the things we wanted to improve. These included small snags that either we as a team spotted or our users raised as improvements. I spent a good chunk of time collaborating with 4 others to optimise our empty states. They needed it.

More content style guide stuff. Precious time for this is getting eaten up with other business demands. If I’ve enough time in my next sprint I’ll block out some time and head to a co-working space to catch up.

Getting a head start on Q3 goals. Only in the form of noting down things I know will be useful.

Contemplating comments. Figma comments, that is. It can be a full time job to manage these, and it can also disrupt focus time.

As a centralised function I’m used to spinning all the projects/plates at one time. I haven’t yet worked out an effective way to manage unwieldy comments on Figma files. I can see this becoming a process thing i’ll work on a part of my Q3 goals.
