Weeknotes 31 May, 2024

Hello there, Friday. Once again we’re at the end of the week. Here’s how this Bank Holiday 4-day blur has gone.

A new ‘approvals’ project. This one is involves sense-checking the designs so far. The tricker bit is finding the right terms for different users of our software. The terms need to distinguish what each user can and can’t do. I’m on iteration #2 of these so let’s see how that goes.

Content guidance. With only 2 sprints left in Q2, this has been a big focus for me this week. I’m so glad we tackled the hard stuff first for this as the rest is coming together so much easier. We’ve created everything in Figma up to this stage. The next step will be moving it over to our internal wiki. It’s going to feel so good to launch this. In Q3, we’ll iterate and govern the content on an on-going basis so it doesn’t expire faster than a ripe avocado.

Catching up with Figma comments. I’ve dropped the ball on this a bit so to focus on the content guidance. There wasn’t too much to catch up on, which is always good!

Checking in on my goals. We have mid-year reviews approaching (already!) so I took stock of how I’m getting on with my goals. I’ve started to think about goals for the next quarter too,
