Weeknotes 17 January, 2025

We can always do more. We can. But, should we?

This though have been top of mind this week. The universe (not that I believe in this as such) has been telling me to take on less.

I’m pretty sure Lauren Pope’s 2024 Button talk was on a similar vibe – doing less, but doing it brilliantly. We should all feel empowered to do this.

After all, doing heaps of stuff doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doing the right stuff. Priority matrix’s are a great tool to help with. So is a little reminder that don’t know what people are managing outside of their corporate to-dos. If you are managing a lot outside of work, be kind to yourself. And let’s go kind on each other, always.

It’s okay to do less when you are dealing with more

This week has involved heaps. I’m ready for the weekend. Before I go, here’s a look at some of the stuff I’ve cracked through.

  • Syncing with designers and Product Managers. On new projects, terminology harmonisation, and planning some naming user testing.
  • 2024 goals. Thinking about what I want to achieve this year, how I’m going to get there. And documenting this and breaking into into deliverables over the quarters. It’s not finished, but it’s started. Progress is progress.
  • Updating our content wiki ahead of running some brand voice training.
  • data health banners
  • Auditing notifications. With a mighty team (the way to do audits) ahead of getting together to work out how to optimise these.
  • Small – and large – content tweaks. Like swapping “Click here” for more descriptive, accessible copy. Little, but important. And a 4-hour session on. complex upsell banners.

Enjoy the weekend and make time to rest. Leave the dishes, eat the chocolate – whatever it is you feel you need.
