Friday, woo! (I must get more creative with my openers for these Weeknotes). Let’s get straight into some of the stuff I’ve wrangled over the last 5 days.

Reviewing content. Making the language simpler and less robotic e.g. switching “override” to “replace”.

Enjoying seeing others succeed. How good is this?! It’s a huge high when you’ve helped someone develop and they don’t just spread their wings, they fly.

I’ve been helping someone better understand what our voice is, how to apply it, how to “cheat” it (shh!) with AI. I’ve also shared how to audit your work so you know if you’ve nailed it or need to iterate more.

Voice and tone training. I ran a survey last year to get an idea of how confident folks are with UX writing. I then ran training on the lower scored subjects and I’m now working on some voice and tone training. This is also using data from the survey to shape the content. It’s taking longer to create this training. But, it is a meat-er topic than the bite-sized messaging we covered in the first training session.

More auditing… this time, our notifications. Someone called me “The Audit Queen” recently. I’m definitely not. I find audits quite tedious being honest. Yet, it’s got to be done so hi ho, hi ho…
