Weeknotes 14 February, 2025

It’s been a sweet week. I’ve not had a whole heap of on my plate, which is a welcome change. Although I’m the one that plans my work and decides how much to do each sprint, I do have a habit of overloading myself. This sprint was different. Good different.

This, then, should make for a short and (also sweet) Weeknotes. Here goes…

The usual small content tweaks. I thought about not including these in my Weeknotes anymore. Small content tweaks can feel repetitive/ boring to write about. Yet, they’re far from insignificant.

Little copy changes aren’t big ticket Roadmap dazzlers. What they are is your weapon against a whole heap of content debt. It’s all too easy to sweep these teeny things under the carpet, but practicing good “keeping the lights on” hygiene will raise the quality of your product. Good housekeeping = good user experience. Seems I have chores on my mind… the analogy does kinda work. Fixing the small stuff does become a chore if you leave it, like washing, to pile up.

Sharing feedback in our design crit. We run these every 2 weeks and they’re always packed with good stuff.

Facilitating a ways of working retro. We work in an empowered teams set up – based on the book by Marty Cagan and Chris Jones. Each team has a designer, engineer, and PM. Then, as a content designer, I’m a centralised function. If I can make these retros I will, and this week I enjoyed running one.

Regular notifications workshop. We’re meeting weekly on this project. It was a shorter stand up style call this week. Until next week…

Happy lovers day, y’all.
