Weeknotes 17 April 2025

Thursday today is technically Friday for lots of us here in the UK thanks to Easter. I’m looking forward to a few days off and some family time. Before that, here’s a summary of the last 4 days.

Content auditing, again. It is a large part of my job and this week was no different.

Spotting opportunities for personal growth and asking for tips from others’ experiences. I spoke with my boss and asked how she might handle a situation. I had a similar chat with a friend. Both were full of valuable advice I’ll definitely be trying.

Re-evaluating some user-research. As part of one of my goals my plans were to visit some accounting practices and small/medium businesses. I had a chat with our user research team and decided to do some remote testing first. It’s still “getting closer to our customers” (the goal), just a different tactic. And, the results may steer me back towards in-person visits and if so, with greater data in my arsenal.

Further optimisation of emails. Copy updates on these (removing small interjections etc) got missed. I went back over everything to be extra thorough and asked for implementation.

Sharing my learnings from training a GPT with my team. I did this last week in an AI workshop and this week, took another person through my process. I still have loads to train the GPT on, and plenty of testing to do. It does like to go awol and loves a good waffle. Urgh.
