Weeknotes 9 May, 2025

Focus time (and my patience, as much as I don’t like admitting so) has been in short supply this week. I always have focus time planned in, but this week didn’t go to plan.

I’ve found this frustrating. And I’ve been questioning myself about why it’s been frustrating. From quizzing myself I realised that I’ve not been sleeping well. That’s made me less resilient to the common disruptions of the average working week. My attention span has gone rogue.

My school reports often remarked on how I’d do better if I curbed my “daydreaming”. I’m not sure I’d call this week’s lack of attention “daydreaming”. That’s way too romantic. And it’s been quite the opposite. It’s been frustrating. I’ve stuff to do and tasks to tick off.

Some of the tasks I have ticked off are below. Some weeks I do more than I realise, so I’m hoping this is one of those. And that next week, equilibrium will be somewhat restored. The manifesting starts now.

Refining settings copy. There were a lot of complexities to this particular copy and it took a few iterations to get it right. I wanted to future-proof where this copy is too, should we need to add to it.

Finalised a RACI. It was well received. And I’m glad it’s done.

Iterated on a UX writing workshop. This one’s for our engineers. It’ll be quite different to the one I ran before, which was for designers. In the initial stage, I as asked both disciplines via a survey how confident they felt with UX writing. The results were quite different.

Shaking my fists at a Gdoc corrupting. Aha! THIS is grounds for frustration. I blame everything on this. I cried internally and rebuilt the spreadsheet.
