Hello again, Friday. I’m going to get straight into what’s gone on this week. Here goes…
I facilitated a workshop about UX Writing. This is the one I’ve been working on for a while. It’s taken longer than expected to put together for 2 reasons. One: juggling lots of other tasks at the same time. Two: it included lots of before and after real examples, which take time to consider. Using AI helped speed up the examples, but it was still time-consuming. The session itself went really well and we’ve had some great feedback. That makes it all worth it.
Small copy improvements. The usual. This included some tiny content cards that in the end went through about 5 or 6 iterations. I worked with a designer and loved how she knew the smallest copy change could make all the difference. It really can.
Scheduling more terminology tests.
Failing to get my Learn Something New presentation finished. We do these sessions every month, with a different person presenting each time. My slot was June and got bumped to July. That’s meant I’ve lowered the priority of getting this done, when I’d like to just get it done.
Updating my goals. Adding more SMART stuff to them mostly. For example, why am I doing them, when things will happen, and what the outcomes will be.
