Weeknotes 9 Jan, 2026

This week I’m going template-free for my reflection. So wild.

Like many of us, it’s been my first full week after the festive period. Yet, I don’t have ‘back to work’ vibes as I did work between Christmas and New Year. Anyway, on to reflecting…

I harnessed progress over perfection (and dare I say it, procrastination). I talked about this before – more so about how process isn’t everything. The week felt slow, yet I chipped away at projects and embraced the slowness. I know things will feel full on all too soon.

Low-impact jobs are still important. I did a lot of tidying up in Jira. (I know, yawn). But good housekeeping matters. Some tickets were stuck in the backlog. They were either deprioritised initiatives or pivoted from. I sorted our content epics, and got everything in order. We haven’t been using the metrics in Jira so this was part of my motivation as we will this year.

Our support team rock. I’m doing a design review of help articles that have moved from one place to another. I’ve had so little feedback. The standards our team are delivering are epic – and our customer notice this.

I can’t ever recommend eating kibble. I accidentally ate a piece of soggy dog biscuit that, gawd only knows how, got in my tea. Blergh.
