The Fashion Office recommends…a tribute to Michael Jackson

He’ll be number one in the charts, Google’s most searched term, the biggest topic for bloggers, a sell-out in all music stores, on everyone’s iPod (including mine) and he’s already Last FM’s top listened to artist.

A man who needs no introduction, Michael Jackson will be sadly missed the world over.

In light of his passing yesterday, This week’s Fashion Office Recommends has been dedicated to Michael Jackson by the girls and features our most-loved tracks.  With so many amazing songs to choose from, it’s been a hugely difficult task.

However, we haven’t flinched at the challenge and have pulled together to create none other than a glittering tribute to the King of Pop – with some heart-stopping memoirs attached.

Without further adieu, here’s The Fashion Office’s collective homage to Michael Jackson’s outstanding career and his contribution to music that will never be forgotten.

A work in progress recommends the world’s most expensive video.  Still.

New Favourite Thing recommends not one, but two:

Dirty Diana

I Want You Back

Sartoriology – Liberian Girl.  How many celebrities can you spot?

So Stylistic also can’t choose.  With poignant memories, she reccomends Ben and Speed Demon.

Speed Demon

Ezzie recommends: Rock With You

Mine  – Smooth Criminal.

When i was ten, and for her thirteenth birthday, my parents took my sister and I “To see Michael”.  Thinking we were going to our cousin’s, imagine how excited we were when we arrived at the cinema to watch Moonwalker. After falling in love with the film from the minute it began, this is the track that brings those memories flying back.

This spectacular live recording at his 1992 Dangerous tour deserves your full attention.  Stop what you’re doing now, press play, and spend the next five minutes and five seconds remembering MJ for nothing but his music and the star that he was and will continue to be forever more.
