Telling tales of adventure

A few years back I met a tall, utterly modest girl named Hannah. She soon scurried off from the brand we worked for, swapping the London 9-5 to cross continents upon the back seat of a sand-sprayed motorcycle.

She explored the sites of, and drew inspiration from, her surroundings and with nonchalant strength, endured – and survived – the atrocities of the 2008 Mumbai (formerly Bombay) attacks.

I’m pleased to say that this young lady is back among us in London. She brings with her all the wonderful inspiration she captured while living in India for three years; in the form of her new accessory label, Midsummer +1, which uses traditional Bengali techniques to craft each fair-trade purse, clutch and wallet, while helping to ensure fair salaries are paid and working conditions are protected.

The admirable Hannah, (now Mrs. Blencowe, thanks to the driver of her South Asia adventures) remains ever-still as meek, though now with an enviable business to call her own. We are told we should watch the quiet ones, and Mrs. B, is certainly one to keep your eyes peeled for.

See the full Midsummer +1 collection at Stour Space’s Christmas market on Saturday, 15th December.
