Weeknotes 7 July, 2023

Woo. This week’s been somewhat straightforward – I’ll take that. It’s Friday and the sun is shining, so I’ll keep this short. Enjoy the weekend.

Continuing onboarding comms. We hit a few snags with this when it was user tested. I’ve been simplifying the content (it was much needed). Hopefully, there’ll be time to test it again.

Reviewing and refining goals. I set a couple of goals for the next 6-12 months. They were continuing to ‘improve my Figma skills’ and ‘grow my influence’ (ick). The former is something I do every day naturally so it didn’t feel like a true goal. The latter I couldn’t answer why I chose it. When a colleague asked why I chose this as a goal, I couldn’t remember. The person asking also wasn’t sure if I meant becoming an influencer, which is 100% not me. Double ick.

I booked some time with someone in the people team to dig deeper into my goals. A big part of what was under ‘grow my influence’ was about coaching someone and someone coaching me. I’ve now got a plan to complete the report of the See Me exercise I’ve previously done. Then, I’ll regroup with the people team (thank you!) to explore my strengths and weaknesses and we’ll hatch a coaching plan from there. I’m excited.
