Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine. What a week it’s been with that glorious big yellow thing in the sky. Please stay…
On to wurk. It’s been a good one chipping away at a few different tasks. I’ve had an intro call to our new research tool Great Question, which I’m looking forward to trying out. Here are few other things I’ve been whittling away at:
Thorough content reviews. The trouble when you’re spinning many plates at one time is that the details slip. While I was on holiday that happened to a few projects. This week I took the time to go back through 3 projects with a fine tooth comb. I’ve collated constructive feedback for the designer, that I hope will help them. My job is to help empowers and one way I do this is by taking them time to “show” rather than “tell”. It does mean it takes others more time for things to click, but it’s time well spent. It’s effectively slowing down so you can speed up in future.
Creating a training plan for our “Content Designer” GPT. We have a team of 2. That means it’s not only tough to see everything, it’s unrealistic and not scalable. One way I’m looking to address this (in the absence of budget to grow my team) is to train a GPT to be a 3rd content designer. One that our business can call on to help them write product content that’s supports users’ needs and our brand.
I’ve set the GPT up and created a step-by-step training plan. I’m now getting our content guidance into the right format for Chat GPT and next week I’ll resume training it. I had started training it with some off-the-cuff info, but I decided to be more measured and create a step-by-step plan.
Gauging confidence in UX Writing. At the same time as creating the GPT, I want to get a sense of how others in the business are finding writing product copy. I’ve sent surveys to our Product Managers and Tech Leads. I’ll use this to create tailored training to help them feel even more empowered in writing.
Those are the key things. I’d love to say I’m now off to enjoy more of the sun’s warming rays, but I’ve an afternoon of tasks to get through first. Soak it all up if you’re out there.
