It was great to back in London this week and hang out with the team. I even had rave lighting in my hotel room. I’m not sure I needed it, but that’s Shoreditch for you. I was in the Big Smoke for a workshop with my extended team. We spent time spotting inefficiencies in our workflows, and how we might solve them with our muy rápido amigo, AI.
How might we optimise our design process with AI? The premise of our 2-day workshop. The intention is that this is not about doing things faster. Instead, it’s about finding things that are manual and don’t have to be. It was also an opportunity to try out AI tools we haven’t yet played around with.
I used Loveable to make an accounts and bookkeeping app. One that automates everything so you can have your time back. It was crazy how quick Loveable put this together, and it gave us some great ideas too.
Training a GPT. After creating a guide on how to do this (yep, using CGPT), I spent some time training the Content Designer GPT. I’ve given it our voice and tone guidelines as well as other guidance from our content wiki.
I showcased the GPT in our AI workshop and got the team to try it out. There are tweaks to make and more training to do, then I’ll start testing it more. I’ve given the team access so they can help test it too. I also asked them to send me examples of questions they might ask it. I’ll use those to train it too.
Design challenge notifications workshop. We’ve been reflecting on our notifications and creating a fresh strategy and principles. This week it was time to get our design team involved. We set them activities to see how we might improve notifications in our software. This generated a ton of ideas, which we’re now exploring in greater detail. So good to see things shaping up and edge closer to delivery.
Content and delivery team ways of working retro. We had some things go rogue lately. We all knew we could do better next time so 6 of us took the time to reflect on our process and how we can improve. I love retros. They’re a safe space to share stuff that’s not working and then fix them, together.
