I’ve spent this week in Europe at a company kickoff. And I hadn’t realised how much I needed it until I was there.
It had the feel of a mini TED conference – energising in a way that’s hard to manufacture. I came in with notes already forming in my head about our content vision and what I want to focus on next with my team. The 2 days gave those thoughts more shape and more momentum. That’s the best kind of event. Not one that plants entirely new ideas; one that helps grow the ones you’re already carrying.
I’d also attended with a handful of goals. To meet people I’d been working with for some time but never actually met. Questions I wanted to ask while I had the chance. Hear how others might solve things in different ways. Connecting in person and ideating together is something I was craving.
I’m coming back reinvigorated. Next week, I want to get the content vision on paper. And build it with my team. More prototyping and more contact with customers will feature heavily. Both of those feel like things I want to be more deliberate about.
Tired but excited. A genuinely good week.
